Nominations open for 6th Ghana Beauty Awards

The Sub-Saharan African beauty industry continues to grow exponentially.

It is currently home to about 821 million consumers eager to buy a wide range of cosmetics and beauty products.

The Africa Beauty Market is also valued at $10 Billion with South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon, Rwanda, and Ethiopia leading, which clearly means that Ghana plays a significant part in both the consumption and production of products in the global beauty space.

The beauty industry in Ghana has over the years produced a number of outstanding pioneers, pacesetters and game changers who deserve to be acknowledged, honored and celebrated for others to emulate and this is the sole objective of the Ghana Beauty Awards (GBA).

The GBA is an annual celebration for the Beauty Industry, aimed at fostering excellence, by rewarding and celebrating pioneers, leading professionals, and upcoming talent within the industry, as well as businesses and brands who are contributing to economic growth.

The theme for this year’s Awards is Celebrating Beauty Excellence; the key to sustainable economic growth with preliminary activities such as the Beauty Entrepreneurship Summit taking place in Accra and Kumasi, which will culminate into a glamorous Awards Night on November 12, 2022, at the plush Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra at 7 PM.

This year’s GBA shall reward outstanding beauty practitioners, entrepreneurs, promoters, brands, manufacturers, etc. in a total of thirty-three (33) categories.

Nominations are officially opened and will be closed by 31st August 2022. Beauty professionals, businesses and emerging talents are encouraged to take advantage of this life-changing opportunity.

Ghana Menswear Week

Ghana Menswear Week is super excited to announce its partnership with the KGL Foundation for the 2022 ‘Style Man Project’, a fashion competition aimed at discovering the next generation of menswear designers in Ghana.

The project seeks to unearth, nurture and manage young and creative upcoming designers in the menswear market and help project their creativity worldwide with the support of industry experts and partners like the KGL Foundation, whose CSR values seek to provide sustainable social intervention programmes in the fields of health and sports, entrepreneurship and Youth Empowerment, culture and arts in Ghana.

According to Nana Mensah, Founder of Ghana Menswear Week: “The annual Menswear Week is not just about staging a fashion show, but also as part of our social responsibility, we created this huge platform to help many talented young designers find their feet in the fashion industry”

“For the first time since we launched the competition in 2019, we are collaborating with an organisation which prides itself with corporate diversity in its CSR activities to help young talented designers reach their full potential,” he concluded.

Three (3) lucky finalists will have their collections showcased on the runway during Ghana Menswear Week 2022 on August 28 at the World Trade Centre, Accra.

The ultimate winner, as a prize, will have the opportunity to showcase at an international fashion week facilitated by KGL Foundation, and get a brand new TECNO phone, brand management and promotions, mentoring, among other benefits.

Ghana Menswear Week is a yearly fashion showcase launched in 2016 by Fame Model Management which seeks to create a platform for the showcase of new collections by creative men’s wear designers and brands. The annual event brings together men’s wear designers, buyers, men’s services providers, bloggers and consumers under one roof.
