Chanel nabs Nespresso’s James Hansford as

French luxury fashion house, Chanel, has appointed James Hansford (pictured) as regional head of eBusiness, according to a LinkedIn post by Hansford. 

Hansford was previously with Nestle Nespresso for 15 years, according to a separate LinkedIn post. There, he helmed the position of B2C commercial manager, omni-channel, for nearly four years. In this role, he led the B2C business for Nespresso Singapore which included four boutiques, two pop-up locations, a website and a mobile app, stores on Amazon, Lazada and Shopee as well as trade corners in Harvey Norman and Tangs. In addition to that, he was also responsible for data and analytics in the organisation.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Hansford defined the omni-channel strategy for Nespresso Singapore as one with a focus on a seamless customer journey and the alignment of service experiences with sales objectives. He was also responsible for the profit and loss of the B2C sales channels, (online & offline) with monthly and annual forecasting responsibilities. In this role, he managed a team of over 50 with people development as a core focus.

Hansford was also eCommerce and customer care manager and regional eCommerce manager for SEA as well as global digital transformation manager to name a few of his seven positions at Nespresso.

Hansford said in his LinkedIn post, “Looking back on my time with Nespresso I have so much to be grateful for. The incredible standard of leadership at every step of my career enabled my personal growth and inspired me to stay so long.”

He added: “I joined Nespresso for the coffee, the stories and the commitment to sustainability, I stayed for the leaders who inspired me. Looking forward to coming back for a visit very soon.”
