I Tried On The Biggest Denim Trends of 2023

At the start of each new season, denim always pops up in one form or another, making it a key driver in sales for many designers and a growing way for customers to buy into luxury brands at a slightly more entry-level price point. But for spring/summer 2023, there is another level of newness about it. Now, don’t panic—your classic straight-leg jeans aren’t going anywhere, but there’s no denying that they are by now considered a firm wardrobe staple and instead there are some new denim styles worth having on your radar for 2023.

For the past couple of years, stonewash jeans have been the focus, but this season sees way more flexibility in washes and fits, and the return of Y2K trends sees design elements such as cut-off waistbands, flared split ankles and twisted seam skirts take centre stage, too.

Thankfully for you, I’ve done the hard work and tried on all the denim trends worth knowing about this year. So, if it’s a new pair of jeans you are after, why not consider a slouchy wide-leg, worn low-slung with a pair of pointy heels? Or why not add another layer of interest with some cargo-style denim? And if jeans aren‘t your bag, then hit up one of the many denim maxi skirts available for every budget.

How about a denim accessory such as a bag or a pair of boots? Denim accessories are really having a moment and will easily modernise last season’s outfits. For the brave among us, there is no shortage of monogram denim out there right now—from Chanel’s wide-leg jeans to Celine’s bucket bag (which is at the top of my wish list). Plus, we’ve got throwback details reminiscent of Britney Spears’ music videos as in as cowboy leather patches, embellishments and

The 17 Best Beauty Gifts for Valentine’s Day, From Fine Perfume to Soothing Bath Products

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, Robb Report may receive an affiliate commission.

Gifting beauty products is a tricky game, and the result can go one of two ways. Either you hit it out of the park, or your big swing turns into a big miss. That’s because many people have a particular regimen they stick to, ranging from the hair and skin brands to which they remain loyal (since it can be a gamble to switch away from the products that consistently deliver a good hair day or clear skin). Plus, things like makeup and nails are a matter of one’s own taste; it’s best not to guess which color palette or shade your giftee needs, and instead trust that they’ve got themselves covered in that department. How, then, can you ensure that the beauty gift is a guaranteed win, then? Here are a few tips, followed by our picks for the best products to gift for a special occasion.

Gifting Tips for Beauty Products

The most important, overarching advice we can offer is to avoid anything too personal, too passive-aggressive, and too lazy. This usually boils down to the individual and your relationship to them, however.

Nothing too personal: On the one hand, you do want to give them a gift that feels thoughtful and personal, but again, things like nail/lip/blush colors and hair care products might be received poorly if it’s not exactly the product that they are already using. One exception could be if you find a perfect color match of a brand they’re using and it’s something elevated above what they’re already using. “I saw that you use lots of muted red lipsticks, so I got you a few from (this top-shelf

This Drag Queen Stole the Show at Milan Fashion Week Impersonating Jennifer Coolidge

At this moment, Jennifer Coolidge is having a cultural moment. The star received a colossal welcoming when she hit the scene for Diesel‘s Fall/Winter 2023 presentation for Milan Fashion Week — but the gag is, it wasn’t her, but rather her doppelganger, British drag queen Alexis Stone.

Stone tapped special-effects makeup artist Neill Gorton for an exact replicated face of the ‘The White Lotus‘ star. Taking over five weeks to complete the prosthetic pieces, Stone also used Coolidge’s 2023 Golden Globes makeup as inspiration, including her lipstick, eyeshadow and lash application. For more razzle and dazzle to the look, Stone completed the impersonation with a blonde, beachy-wavy wig to further cement the moment.

For the Diesel presentation, Stone pulled onto the scene rocking a number from the brand’s new collection. The metallic cargo pants, biker jacket and matching top only pose this question: Could this have been a lewk that Coolidge turned herself into? One can only imagine, but what we do know is that the artist pulled off the actor’s signature put down to the “T.”

For those who aren’t aware of Stone’s talent, she’s known for impersonating some of the best of the best in pop culture, from Dolly Parton to Kim Kardashian — she’s the ultimate g.o.a.t.

Since welcoming her first child, Bambi, last month, Molly-Mae, 23, has mimicked Paris, 33, on many occasions.

From Bambi’s designer wardrobe to how she got back into exercising soon after giving birth, we reveal how Molly-Mae has followed in the footsteps of her sister-in-law.

Rebecca Black’s unexpected career arc is a thing of beauty

In June of last year, Twitter user @s_jobs6 mused, “There are few things to celebrate in this world but the fact that Rebecca Black is now a gay icon is definitely one of them.” And they weren’t wrong. Black’s unusual career arc — from viral punchline to genuine artist — is absolutely something worth celebrating.

In 2011, Black was a middle schooler in suburban Los Angeles when she released a song called “Friday” via an outfit called Ark Music Factory. Ark was sort of a pay-to-play record label, where producer and rapper Patrice Wilson would help aspiring young musicians write a pop song and make a (low-budget) video in exchange for money.

“I found it through a friend of mine at school and I was like, ‘Oh, this looks interesting,'” she tells Tom Power in an interview on Q. “And my parents, my mom really, thought it was worthwhile to do for some reason.”

album, Let Her Burn”

Q23:37Rebecca Black is getting down — and getting even — with her new album, Let Her Burn

The resulting video, much to Black’s surprise, went viral — and not in a good way. In retrospect, the response to “Friday” seems like an absolutely unhinged orgy of online cruelty. Adults — including some prominent comedians — spent weeks mercilessly dunking on a child, turning Black and Friday into a widespread subject of mockery.

Black acknowledges that, at the time, the criticism felt shattering.

“When you’re a 13-year-old, it’s impossible to process,” she says. “You’ve grown up for 13 years knowing that adults know more than you, knowing to look to adults for advice, knowing to look for validation elsewhere as you learn how to operate in the world. Every piece of feedback that I got, I took as

Fendi, Antonio Marras and Etro kick off day one of Milan Fashion Week

Milan Fashion Week autumn/winter 2023 began on Wednesday and, as expected of the Italian city, things were both stylish and provocative.

At Fendi, creative director Kim Jones continued with the clothes-as-armour theme, as well as the underwear-as-outerwear idea he set in motion at his recent haute couture show. For this autumn/winter ready-to-wear collection, Jones offered contrasting options for the modern woman. There was sharp suiting with complex, layered looks that were strong and powerful, while other designs were soft, almost flimsy, in lace and silk.

Antonio Marras wove a wintry gothic tale, with knitted cable jumpers featuring lace and dense flowers creeping across the garments. There was even a tailored tartan suit, a nod to Vivienne Westwood, who died last year.

At Weekend Max Mara, British stylist Kate Phelan brought some androgynous London cool to Milan, via her capsule collection for the brand, which was simply called 24. Inspired by a December 1982 Vogue fashion shoot by Bruce Weber and Grace Coddington that Phelan saw as a teenager, she explains that as soon as she was invited to collaborate on a collection, she knew this shoot would be the foundation of it. “I have been obsessed with these images ever since and, in a way, they made me fall in love with fashion,” she explained.

Translated into high-waisted, pleat-fronted trousers, oversized Harris Tweed blazers and herringbone coats that all leaned into Max Mara know-how, the collection also included pleated black denim skirts and Dr Martens for a dash of early 1980s street style.

Over at Marina Rinaldi, Mary Katrantzou presented a collaboration collection centred on a swirled psychedelic pattern akin to the marbled paper found in old books. Offered in teal and pink, the swirly shapes arrived across dresses, split-front
